Starting supports can feel overwhelming — but we believe it shouldn’t have to be.
At Atypical, we focus on making the process feel human, supportive and genuinely collaborative from the very beginning.
Contact our team directly or submit an enquiry through our website form.
Whether you’re a participant, parent, family member, support coordinator, school or allied health professional, we’ll take the time to understand who you are, what you’re looking for, and how we may be able to support you.
Before discussing “services,” we focus on connection.
We’ll organise a discovery call or meeting to get to know you properly — your goals, interests, communication style, support needs, challenges, strengths and what genuinely matters to you.
This is also an opportunity for you to get to know us, ask questions, and see whether Atypical feels like the right fit.
Because supports should never feel transactional.
Together, we’ll explore what supports may best suit your needs, goals and funding.
This may include:
• Farm-based programs
• In-home supports
• Community access
• Support coordination
• Counselling and emotional support
• Capacity building supports
• Auslan-inclusive supports and communication assistance
We work collaboratively with participants, families, allied health teams and support networks to create supports that feel meaningful, flexible and individualised.
Once everyone feels comfortable moving forward, our intake team will guide you through the onboarding process.
Most forms and agreements can be completed online for convenience, however we are always happy to provide support over the phone or in person if needed.
We understand paperwork can sometimes feel daunting, and we aim to make the process as accessible and stress-free as possible.
This is where the real journey begins.
We carefully consider support matching, communication styles, sensory needs, interests, personalities and goals to create supports that feel safe, authentic and sustainable.
At Atypical, we don’t believe in simply “filling hours.”
We believe in:
• Genuine connection
• Meaningful participation
• Inclusive communication
• Building confidence and independence
• Emotional safety and belonging
• Supporting people to discover purpose and community
Because great support starts with relationships.
And everyone deserves a place where they feel understood, valued and able to show up exactly as they are.
